Mr. Brown reported that the school year has started off well and is running smoothly with the support of the staff and teachers.
D. Superintendent-Christy Hammer
Mrs. Hammer reported:
Continuing to work on ESSER III;
Jana’s Campaign;
Sheriff’s office and emergency system committee did a school walk through;
Applying for school safety grant;
Discussed security of doors staying locked; and 
CTE program

2. Strategic planning
Christy Hammer would like the board to consider joining the Greenbush Consortium.  They would facilitate surveying the community for input. The cost would be $3,950.  Services provided would include virtual school improvement, administrative services (KESA), strategic plan and mentoring.
3. Discuss theater: fine arts credit
Todd Selzer moved, seconded by Craig Sloan to give the theater class a fine arts credit, beginning with this year.  Motion carried 6 yea.
4. KASB board convention attendance
KASB convention will be held November 11-13th.  Board members interested in attending are to let Christy Hammer know.
5. Discuss instrumental rentals
We have 40 instruments that have been donated to the school.  Many of them need repaired.  It will cost $1,387 for 15 of them to be repaired.  Currently our rental agreement is for $25 a year.  The board agreed to go ahead and get the instruments repaired.
6. Bids for new route suburban-replace expedition
Christy brought to the boards attention that we cannot depreciate anything over eight (8) years old.
Camron Funk moved, seconded by Todd Selzer to find approved rotation schedule and obtain bids according to schedule.  Motion carried 6 yea.
7. Supplemental position
Todd Selzer moved, seconded by Stephanie Johnson that we offer Etta Walker the forensics coach position for the 2022-2023 school year.  Motion carried 6 yea.
Craig Sloan moved, seconded by Brad Chubb to offer Jessie Carman the assistant HS girls BB coaching position.  Motion carried 6 yea.
8. Review start of school and enrollment numbers
Start of the year enrollment numbers are 179 students.  Last year we had 185.  Official count day is September 20, 2022.
9. Drones
Christy Hammer reported that a request had been made to allow a drone to fly over the FB field at an angle during games.  After looking at KSHAA policy and further discussion the board decided not to allow this request.
Executive session: non-elected personnel
Mark Kuhlman moved, seconded by Craig Sloan to go into executive session for five (5) minutes, for the purpose of discussing non-elected personnel, to protect the privacy rights of said person and return to this room at 8:51 p.m.  Mrs. Hammer and Mr. Brown are invited in. 
Brad Chubb moved, seconded by Craig Sloan to go into executive session for five (5) minutes, for the purpose of discussing non-elected personnel, to protect the privacy rights of said person and return to this room at 8:57 p.m.  Mrs. Hammer and Mr. Brown are invited in.
