District Court Sentencings

Rolando Gonzales appeared in Wallace County District Court on January 12, 2020 for sentencing in case number 2019-CR-10 with court appointed attorney Christopher Rohr of Colby, Kans. On February 13, 2019, Gonzales had been found guilty of count 1 Possession of a Controlled Substance, Methamphetamine, a level 5, non-person, drug felony, with a presumptive probation sentence of 18-22 months with drug treatment up to 18 months. The Honorable Judge Scott Showalter found Gonzales guilty of count 1 on February 12, 2020 and ordered him to return to court on March 12, 2020 for sentencing. Gonzales returned to the Wallace County District Court for sentencing on March 12th. Judge Showalter then sentenced him to 20 months of probation and drug treatment for up to 18 months.   Gonzales was ordered to pay $193 in court costs, and $520 worth of fees incurred in the prosecution of this case.


Clinton Martin appeared in Wallace County District Court on January 16, 2020 for sentencing in case number 2019-CR-6 with attorney Justin Barrett of Colby, Kans. On November 13, 2019, Martin had been found guilty of count 1 Possession of a Controlled Substance, Methamphetamine, a level 3 nonperson drug felony, with a presumptive prison sentence of 46-51 months.  As part of a plea agreement reached with Wallace County Attorney, Charles Moser, Martin was offered a downward departure of the presumptive prison sentence in exchange for pleading guilty.  The Honorable Judge Scott Showalter accepted the terms of the plea agreement, found Martin guilty of count 1 on November 13, 2020.  Martin returned to the Wallace Count District Court for sentencing on January 16th.  Judge Showalter then sentenced him to 49 months of probation.  Martin was ordered to pay $193 in court costs and $320 in fees related to prosecution of this case. 


Bryan Lee appeared in Wallace County District Court on February 13, 2020 for a violation of conditions hearing regarding sentencing in case number 2017-CR-30, with court appointed attorney Christopher Rohr of Colby, Kans.  Lee had been found guilty on May 16, 2019 of a level 3 nonperson drug felony Conspiracy to Distribute a Controlled Substance, Methamphetamine.  He had originally been given a sentence of 48 month with the department of corrections, but in a plea agreement, had been offered probation.  A violation of terms had been determined, his probation was revoked, and he was ordered to serve his original sentence by the Honorable Judge Scott Showalter. 
Crystal Garner appeared in Wallace County District Court on June 11, 2020 for sentencing in case number 2017-CR-19 with court appointed attorney Leslie Beims of Goodland, Kans. On February 27th, 2020 Garner had been found guilty on count 1 Unlawful Distribution of a Controlled Substance, Methamphetamine, a level 2 nonperson drug felony, with a presumptive prison sentence of 105-116 months. Garner was ordered to return on June 11th for sentencing. Judge Showalter sentenced her to 111 months of probation. Garner was ordered to pay $193 in court costs, $1200 in restitution to the Wallace County Sheriff, and $820 in fees association with prosecution of the case.
