Commissioner Proceedings 1/16/23

The Wallace County Board of Commissioners met in special session with, Larry Townsend, Chairman, Michael Cowles, Commissioner, Becky Larson, Commissioner, Brionna Colvin, Deputy County Clerk and Jacalyn Mai, County Clerk present.
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Townsend for business at 9:14 a.m. at the Sr. Center.
43 are present to ask questions for Eileen & Brad Porubsky’s about what they have to offer to the residents of the Wallace County Community Care Center.
Brian Gaily is present by Zoom.
The Porubsky’s stated that the business they would bring in would be a residential care facility and their goal is to care for the patients until end of life. At the current time they are not able to tell who all can stay at the facility until they can get authorization from the families to see what level of care they are needing. 
The letter of intent has been filed to the state.
The Wallace County Board of Commissioners would “lease” the building to the Porubsky’s. The County would be responsible to fix the building.
Nurses will be cross trained when they are hired. They are there to help each other out when needed. Registered Nurses (RN) will take turns being on call.
Brian Gailey stated that the Care Center should proceed with contacting residents/families to authorize their family members health assessment information to be given to Porubsky’s to see what kind of care they would need to provide to their loved one. 
After a good conversation it was concluded it was decided that the board of county commissioners is still going to look into plan B and ask the Care Center to contact families for authorizing the release of information needed for the Porubsky’s to find out the level of care needed for each resident and see then if it is doable for them to even proceed. 
There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 10:32 a.m.
