COMMISSIONER PROCEEDINGS December 16, 2022
The Wallace County Board of Commissioners met in special session with, Larry Townsend, Chairman, Michael Cowles, Commissioner, Ronnie Hill, Commissioner, and Brionna Colvin, Deputy County Clerk present and invited was the WCCCC Board.
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Townsend for business at 9:00 a.m.
Jacalyn Mai, County Clerk, Lace David, Brad and Eileen Porubsky, Wanda Funk, Vernon Akers, Connie Harrison, Liz Janitell, Doug and Linda Tittel, Margaret Figurilli, Register of Deeds, Becky Larson, and Carol Martin were in attendance.
Chairman Townsend opened the meeting for questions.
The Porubsky’s stated that the business they would bring in would not be a skilled facility and their goal is to care for the patients until end of life.
The letter of intent has been filed to the state and the next step is for the Porubsky’s to file an application.
The Wallace County Board of Commissioners would “lease” the building to the Porubsky’s. The County would be responsible to fix the building.
Nurses will be cross trained when they are hired. They are there to help each other out when needed. Registered Nurses (RN) will take turns being on call rather than working when not needed.
Chairman Townsend called to recess the meeting at 10:20 a.m.
The meeting reconvened at 10:27 a.m. by Chairman Townsend.
Chairman Townsend made a motion to proceed with Brad and Eileen Porubsky to pursue the option of a 30-bed residential health care facility proposal. Commissioner Hill seconded.
AYE 3 NAY 0
The motion carried unanimously.
Chairman Townsend will reach out to the Wallace County Community Care Center Board to set up a time to meet with them since no one was in attendance.
There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 10:41 a.m.
