Tyler Ray Theron Chaney
Former Sharon Springs, KS, resident, Tyler Ray Theron Chaney, 28, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 24, 2025 at the Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs, CO.
Tyler was born on January 2, 1997 to Theron R. Chaney and Tammy L. Duraso. He was one of two children born to this marriage. Tyler attended school in Sharon Springs and graduated from Western Plains High School in Ransom, KS in 2015. He later moved to Pueblo, where he was working as an Excavation Laborer.
Tyler loved his sister and nephews dearly. He enjoyed spending time with all of his friends, especially his second family, the Jaspers. He treasured his time spent in Alaska with his close friend Charles. He enjoyed playing Dungeons and Dragons, and his favorite food of all was Pasta.
Preceding him in death were his paternal grandfather Jake Chaney, his maternal grandmother Gail White, one cousin Christopher Chloe and one uncle Marvin Chloe.
He is survived by his father Theron (Chris) Chaney of Utica, KS, his mother Tammy Duraso of Houston, TX and his sister Cammy Chaney also of Houston, TX. He is also survived by his paternal grandmother Glenna Chaney, half-brothers Rodney Wilms, Troy Harrison, Trevor Chaney, Trent Chaney, step brothers Wade, Dysinger, Daniel (Kelly) Dysinger, Eric (Janel) Dysinger; half-sisters Erica Barkdoll and Brittney Nichols. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on Friday, May 2, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Sharon Springs CAB Building. A lunch will be served at 12:00 and the family would like to invite everyone to join them and remember Tyler.
Memorial contributions may be made out to the Tyler Chaney Memorial Fund and may be left at the services or mailed to Koons-Russell Funeral Home, 211 N. Main Ave., Goodland, KS 67735.
