Sean G Vliem, 33, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away on January 13th,2021. Sean, son of Carolyn Logan and Harold Vliem was born October 12th,1987 in Wichita, KS. Sean was a loving sibling of two sisters, Kristi Vliem (deceased), Amanda Vliem, and a brother Ryan Vliem. Sean had a wife, Aimee Meyer, and two daughters Madison, 10, and Hayley, 9.
As a young boy, Sean realized he enjoyed playing many sports such as football, track, wrestling, and basketball. By far, his favorite sport was football, but Sean loved anything that involved competition.
Sean began his career as a helper in waste maintenance for a local trash and recycling company, Lies. When the company was bought by Waste Management, he started to pursue his C.D.L so he could become a driver. Sean then moved to Waste Connections and received his own route. Sean used his competitiveness nature, applied it to his job and was a dedicated hard worker.
Sean listened to many different genres of music such as country, rock and hip hop. Sean attended many different concerts through the years with friends, family and his wife. Sean enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest!
Sean loved everything about sports! Sean’s favorite college football team was the Oklahoma Sooners (OU). Sean’s favorite N.F.L team was the Dallas Cowboys. Sean also loved the MLB team the Boston Red Sox. Sean followed many different famous athletes such as LeBron James, Conor McGregor, and Bo Jackson to name a few. Sean and his family enjoyed the game of football so much that they attended 4 Dallas Cowboys games together. He and his wife, Aimee, also attended 3 Oklahoma Sooner football games. Sean was overall in love with sports and watched ESPN multiple times a day and could recite many player’s stats and positions.
Sean was gentle and loved many animals especially dogs. He dreamed of owning a dog farm someday and was kind to every animal he met. Sean, over his lifetime, owned many different pets. When he passed, he had 4 dogs, Emmitt Smith, Coco, Frank and Oscar, whom he loved dearly. Sean would say his dogs were sent to him from the heavens.
Sean was a great father to his two children, Madison and Hayley, whom he loved dearly and enjoyed playing with them. Sean made his children smile and laugh as often as he could. Just before Sean passed, he made a snowman with his children and wife. Sean was a family man who loved to watch movies, play games and make his family smile. Sean was very kind and affectionate. Sean was a beloved husband who took care of his family by working hard, taking care of the house, helping with the housework, shoveling the driveway and many more things to put his wife and children first.
Sean had a contagious laugh, beaming smile and was very fun to be around. Sean had many close friends that he spent time with and whom he spoke with over the phone almost every day. Overall, Sean Vliem was a kindhearted person who helped so many people in different ways. Sean touched many lives and tragically was taken too early from us. Sean will be greatly missed and will forever leave a mark on our hearts and will never be forgotten.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 22, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home Wichita Chapel. Graveside servcies were on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Kechi Cemetery.
