Troy Wayne Funk, Holyoke, CO formerly of Sharon Springs KS, passed away at his home surrounded by his wife and family. Troy was born to Wayne Funk and Lois (Lane) Funk in Tribune KS. Troy married the love of his life on April 15, 1967, Mary Jo (Whisler) Funk. To this marriage 3 children were born. Sandi (Aaron) Ward, Lebanon MO, Greg (Julie) Funk, Lake Elsinore, CA, Ranae (Glen) McCallum Holyoke, CO.
Troy retired from Sunflower Telephone Company in 1994, and he got to enjoy traveling, lots of golf, and spending time with grandkids. He always said that if he knew grandkids were so much fun, he would have skipped having kids and just had grandkids. You could always find him showing them stuff he probably shouldn’t have shown them.
Troy has 8 grandkids-Emily (Ethan)Lantz, Trae (Brittany)McCallum, Raelynn (Ben)Holladay, Ashlee (John) Knobbe, Breannah Funk, Kalee (Marty) Jeffers, Wyatt (Kaitlyn) McCallum, Corben (Harly) McCallum, and had 5 great grandkids Bristol, Grayson, Linden, Axton, and Oakley.
Troy was proceeded in death by his parents, Wayne and Lois, sister Verna Lofts, Sister-in-law Deanna Whisler, and honorary grandson, Blye McCallum.
He is survived by his Wife, kids, and grandchildren. Brother Terry Funk Colby, KS, Sister Judy (Don) St. John, Leoti, KS, Brother in Laws Gary (Karen) Wiens, Hillsboro KS, Kent (Barb) Whisler, Manhattan KS, Gary (Josie) Whisler, Atwood KS, Sister-in-Law Karen (Terry)Peck Goodland KS. Numerous nieces and nephews.
