Journalism Class

Journalism is defined on brittanica.com as “The collection, preparation, and distribution of news and related commentary and feature materials through such print and electronic media as newspapers, magazines, books, blogs, media sites, and e-mail as well as through radio, motion pictures, and television. 
The word journalism was originally applied to the reportage of events in printed form, specifically newspapers, but with the advent of radio, television, and the internet in the 20th century the use of the term broadened to include, all printed and electronic communication dealing with the current affair.”
Our local homeschool group has the chance on the second and fourth Wednesdays to meet with Mrs. Lace David, who teaches Journalism to our students. She talks about The Western Times Newspaper and what she does there, which is so cool to listen to. Miss Lace teaches us how to write our own articles and it makes me want to learn more and more. 
Since 1886, people in Wallace County have been able to read The Western Times. Miss Lace told how each newspaper had different stories to tell and how different they have looked through the years. Newspapers can look different in every county; they can look much different than The Western Times newspaper. 
I personally really like Journalism; it’s a fun class to do at our Homeschool Group. Thank you so much, Miss Lace, for teaching me all about the newspaper and what you do.
