Celestin Severin Leiker “Junior” was born to Celestin & Virginia Leiker on June 10, 1939, just outside Wallace, KS. Junior was the youngest of 5 children. At the age of 5 the family moved into Wallace. Junior attended grade school in Wallace and high school in Sharon Springs. Junior played basketball in school. Junior was inducted into the Army Nov. 15, 1961. Junior owned and operated a tire shop and gas station in Wallace for 32 years. He also found time to do some farming which he enjoyed. Junior married Dolly Bishop on Nov. 14, 2004. Junior & Dolly enjoyed playing golf and dancing.
He died on Tuesday, November 23, 2021.
Family preceding Junior in death were his parents; sisters, Gloria Jones and Shirley Bussen and brother Roger Leiker.
Junior is survived by his wife Dolly, of Atwood; his sons, Darrick Leiker (Tammy), of Goodland and Rustin Leiker, of Wallace; daughter Chanda Gronewoller (Frank), of Ionia, KS and grandchildren, Paige Haist (John) and Riley Gronewoller. Junior loved and was so proud of his children and grandchildren.
A Memorial Service took place at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at Baalmann Mortuary, Atwood, KS. Memorial donations may be made to the NWKS Foundation for Hope or to the family and may be sent in care of Baalmann Mortuary, PO Box 391, Colby, KS 67701.
