Joseph Gerald "Jerry" Glenn

Joseph Gerald "Jerry" Glenn passed on from this life into eternal life with the Lord on March 29, 2023.
Jerry was born in Goodland, Kansas on January 24, 1934, to the late Marie Morin and Joseph Thomas Glenn. He was the youngest, having an older sister, Jean, where they lived and worked on a ranch near McAlester, Kansas. Growing up, he learned to drive a truck at a young age helping his Dad on the ranch. When he was nine, his father died, and the family moved to Fort Wallace and, later, Sharon Springs, Kansas. Jerry attended Sharon Springs High School and worked summer jobs on area farms, working the wheat harvest and, also, wrote a sports column for the Western Times.
After graduating from high school in 1951, he worked construction jobs and enjoyed going to community dances and movies, before entering the U.S. Army in 1954. He received military training at Ft. Chaffee, Arkansas and Ft. Sill, Oklahoma before being sent to Europe, where he was stationed in Germany and served in the Field Artillery Radar Section. Following that, he spent three years in the Army Reserve and attended the University of Kansas.
At the University of Kansas, he earned a B.S. in Engineering and Business. There he met his beloved wife, Arden J. Glenn. They were married in 1959 in Lawrence, Kansas. In 1960, they moved to Tulsa, and then to Broken Arrow. They were married for 49 years.
Jerry was an inventor and entrepreneur who was awarded multiple U.S. and international patents for medical equipment. He was involved in many organizations including the Engineers Society of Tulsa, Civitan Club of Broken Arrow, Knights of Columbus, a life member of the KU Alumni Association, and was an active member of his church.
Jerry loved sports including playing baseball and softball, fishing, hunting, golfing, and cheering on the Kansas Jayhawks. He had a passion for travel and took long distance trips with his wife, Arden. They explored states across the country, often to visit their children and grandchildren. They traveled internationally but had a great fondness for Germany, where he had served in the U.S. Army.
Jerry was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Arden, and is survived by his 4 children, 6 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. Jerry will be dearly remembered as a faithful and beloved father, grandfather, uncle, and friend.
A Rosary Service for Jerry was be held at 6 p.m., Tuesday, April 4, 2023. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 5, both services at St. Benedict Catholic Church, in Broken Arrow, OK.
