The Wallace County Board of Commissioners met in regular session with, Becky Larson, Chairperson, Will Walker, Commissioner, Brian Gailey, Commissioner, and Micaila Lock, County Clerk present.
Warrants # 33431-33481 in the amount of $ 81,332.70 were approved for payment. Payroll warrants in the amount of $72,335.37 for the working period of September 14, 2025, through September 27, 2025, were approved for payment.
The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Larson for business at 8:30 a.m.
Commissioner Walker made a motion to approve September 30th, 2025, minutes. Commissioner Gailey Seconded AYE 3 NAY 0

Paulette Unruh, Ambulance Director, entered the meeting.
Paulette gave updates about the county not getting Medicare reimbursement due to the government shutdown us not getting paid from Medicare 14 days from the shutdown. She also will keep the commissioners updated about Medicare. The commissioners asked her if she could bring in information on about runs they have responded to at the curve at the museum.
Doug Springsteel, Landfill Supervisor, entered the meeting
Doug gave an update about the landfill and that they have been closed the last few Saturdays due to wind.
Anthony Garcia, Road supervisor, entered the meeting.
Anthony gave updates about the new tractor and discussed the rotations of guys in different areas
Paulette Unruh, Ambulance Director, re-entered the meeting
Paulette brought in the number of runs they had between the mile marker 26 and 30.
Marshall Unruh, Sherriff, entered the meeting.
Marshall discussed the highway meeting in Colby and gave the commissioners some talking points for the meeting. He discussed the planning for highway 40 to widen and make it more modernized. He also discussed the handbook policy and talking about Sick Bank time.
Ryan Ownes and Chambless with Chambless roofing entered the meeting.
Chancy discussed the understanding of the estimates of the roofing shingles for the Hope Springs and said he will come talk to and to ta
Tonya Medina, County Health Nurse entered the meeting.
Tonya discussed the Stanley contract that was terminated before the five years. She explained that the company has changed hands and at first, they thought maybe with the change of ownership that they get what we had paid with the original company and to figure out what we own them.

Lissa Sexson, Wallace County Community Development entered the meeting.

Lissa discussed the building of a new firehouse with the Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) which has not been cut yet due to the shutdown, but the future of this program is uncertain. Jay discussed the planning of the new firehouse up by the ambulance barn and the reasoning behind why he thought that would be a good location. She also let the commissioners know how the water grant went and the tax credit grant for housing development. Applying for a seed grant to repair the north park with some more improvements. She then discussed the housing, storefront & signage and recruitment incentive. She also showed the commissioners the amount of grants that she has brought back to this county over the last year.
The commissioners discussed the Christmas party and set the date on December 6Th at 5:30 pm.
Marshall Unruh, Sheriff re-entered the meeting.
Marshall discussed the dispatch and that counties are trying to consolidate with other counties to provided dispatch for those counties unable to find people to work.
Lance Finley, Undersheriff entered the meeting.
Lance discussed the highway meeting in Colby to kind of get a plan together. He will get us numbers for the traffic counts from the LPR readers
