The Wallace County Board of Commissioners met in regular session with, Becky Larson, Chairperson, Will Walker, Commissioner, Brian Gailey, Commissioner, and Micaila Lock, County Clerk present.
Warrants # 33012-33056 in the amount of $62,336.38 were approved for payment. Payroll warrants in the amount of $152,1452.93 for the working period of June 8, 2025, through June 21, 2025, were approved for payment.
The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Larson for business at 8:30 a.m.
Maggie Figurilli, Register of Deeds, entered the meeting
Commissioner Gailey made a motion to approve June 24th , 2025, minutes. Commissioner Walker Seconded AYE 3 NAY 0
Commissioner Walker made a motion to approve June 25th, 2025, minutes. Commissioner Gailey Seconded. AYE 3 NAY 0
Maggie gave updates on the software system and her current software company has gotten back to her request and explained that she only has 2 computers and they told her that with only two computers the price would go down to $1400.00 from $1900.00. She asked if she could move forward to switch over to Fiddler.
Commissioner Walker made a motion to accept Tate Vincents resignation. Commissioner Gailey Seconded AYE 3 NAY 0
Duane Barber, Building and Grounds supervisor, entered the meeting.
Duane gave updates on the mowing, and he discussed the north park basketball goal, and the heating and cooling guy is still waiting for some parts.
Anthony Garcia, Road and Bridge supervisor, entered the meeting.
Anthony discussed the recycling center cleanup project. He discussed that Ed Harold asked if the county could get the cattle guard from grainfield for mount sunflower entrance. He also discussed some land that is land locked He gave updates on the road department.

Darvin Meurisse, with Farm and Ranch Realty, entered the meeting
Darvin explained that he had a piece of property that he has listed that is land locked Anthony, road and bridge, re-entered the meeting. Darvin and Anthony discussed him getting a letter from landowners.
Christine Smith, Treasurer, entered the meeting.
Christine discussed having some people interested in her office. She also discussed with the commissioners to wave a drug test for her to have another county treasurer come over and cover her office for four hours of the Friday of fair. Along with discussion of wage scale for hourly employees for each department.
Brenda Cress, Representing S&T, Entered the meeting
Brenda explained that you can customize the phone system and make it easy or complex. She did explain that we would most likely have to get a new number, but we could get possibly use the last 4 digits would have to figure out what middle prefix number. She explained that they can do a call forward system that allows a phone call to go to a cell phone in case of an emergency. Being on a internet phone system the county would not need to have a roll over number. The phones can be leased at $10.00 a month for all devices for 3 years after the 3 years we would own the phones out right. Each department can have a different ringtone and have voicemail. She also discussed that they would do staff training on the day of deployment.

Lissa Sexson, Wallace County Community development entered the meeting.
Reconvene 1:00 pm
Lissa gave updates on the NRP and Kim is now accepting applications. She then gave updates on the safe routes to school grant to get the main streets and streets that lead to the school in both towns with a school in it and gave updates safe streets for all and has been submitted. She has also talked to an engineer for the safe streets for all. She explained the discussion with developer thoughts on how he wants move forward and his thoughts. She gave an update on the music series that has be lined up for this year and everything is lined up for the Thursday night concert at the fair.
Eileen and Brad Porubsky Representing Hope Springs, Entered the meeting
Eileen gave updates on the chairs and exercise equipment. They discussed the contract that is coming to the end and then a year-to-year contract after that and wanted more of the notice if the county decided to end the contract.
Amber Fischer, Pool Manger entered the meeting
Amber discussed the closing date being August 8th but keeping the pool open until August 29th for water aerobics and pool parties. She also gave updates and everything going on at the pool.
