Commissioner Proceedings 6/12/25 Special

The Wallace County Board of Commissioners met in a special session with Becky Larson, Chairperson, Brian Gailey, Commissioner, and Micaila Lock, County Clerk present.

Ft Wallace Association and Guardians Board members Entered the meeting.

Chair Larson called the meeting to order at 5:24 pm at the Ft. Wallace Museum.

Jayne Pearce gave a tour of the museum and explained the history of the museum with the help from Lynn Kirkham. Lynn explained where the museum was originally before it was moved to the current location in 1961 when the land that it currently is on was donated to the association by the Pearce Family. She also explained when the addition was added on in 2017 and how they were able to do that. She then explained how they were able to make all the exhibits possible with the grants the museum has been awarded over the years.

Jayne then asked the commissioner where the county was standing. The Ft Wallace board presented the balance sheets for the Ft. Wallace Memorial Association explained what the association has and what they plan to do soon with those assets with expanding the RV Park and adding 4 more spots at the rodeo arena. The Board and the commissioner discussed where the museum and the county were at looking to move forward in the future.  

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:20 pm
