CALL TO ORDER
The Board of Education of Unified School District 242, Wallace County, Kansas, met in regular session at 7:00pm in the Board Room on July 14th, 2025 with President Eric Purvis presiding.
ROLL CALL

ARRIVING LATER: Mr. Macy Sexson (arrived 7:04pm); Mr. Kyle Riedel (arrived 7:06pm)

APPROVAL OF AGENDA
Mrs. Smith (Mr. Riedel) moved to approve the agenda as amended. Motion carried 4-0.

Mr. Cox gave the superintendent report on the Positions posted on the website; Football stadium bathroom update; Facility management plan; Open enrollment-JBC & JBCC enrollment; CDs from ECB; Budget and Meal Cost for 25-26.
EXECUTIVE SESSION
Mr. Aldridge (Mr. Riedel) moved to enter into executive session at 7:15pm. He further moved to return to the open session at 7:30pm. The items to be discussed in the executive is to discuss personal. The justification for the executive session is for the exception for non-elected personnel under KOMA. Motion carried 6-0. Mr. John Cox was invited to attend. The meeting reconvened at 7:30pm.
Mr. Sexson (Mrs. Smith) moved to enter into executive session at 7:32pm. He further moved to return to the open session at 7:50pm. The items to be discussed in the executive is to discuss personal. The justification for the executive session is for the exception for non-elected personnel under KOMA. Motion carried 6-0. Mr. John Cox was invited to attend. The meeting reconvened at 7:50pm.

Establish substitute teacher salaries ($100 per day)
Establish mileage reimbursement rate ($.50)
Adopting early pay request (KSA 12-105(b)
Establish textbook rental fees ($55)
Establish School Lunch Prices and Breakfast Prices (set prices for all students for breakfast at $2.50, Junior High and High School lunches at $3.35, lunch prices for Elementary School students at $3.10, and lunch prices for adult meals at $4.15; with the understanding that the District will supplement the food service program with general fund money. Milk price will be $.35 per milk)
Establish $1500 petty cash limits provided by law

Designate the following bard officials: Board Clerk (Heavenly McQuillan); Deputy Board Clerk (Connie Okeson); Board Clerk Aide (Candy Cox); Board Treasurer (Connie Okeson); Deputy Board Treasurer (Diane Kuykendall)
Approve Superintendent spending limit ($10,000)
Motion carried 6-0.
Mr. Aldridge left the meeting at 8:27 and returned at 8:29pm.
OLD BUSINESS
Mr. Cox (Mrs. Smith) moved to approve the KASB Board policy update. Motion carried 6-0.
NEW BUSINESS
Mrs. Smith (Mr. Cox) moved to adopt the Cardiac Emergency Response plan with the changes. Motion carried 6-0
Mr. Cox (Mr. Sexson) moved to approve the Organizational chart, adding Eric Palmer. Motion carried 6-0
Mr. Sexson (Mr. Cox) moved to approve to rescind all previous Board of Education policies and approve the 2025-2026 Board of Education policies. Motion carried 6-0.
ADJOURNMENT
Mr. Cox (Mr. Riedel) moved to adjourn the meeting at 9:07pm. Mr. Purvis declared the meeting adjourned.
