The Wallace County Board of Commissioners met in regular session with, Becky Larson, Chairperson, Will Walker, Commissioner, Brian Gailey, Commissioner, and Micaila Lock, County Clerk present.
Warrants # 33306-33353 in the amount of $ 67,432.87 were approved for payment. Payroll warrants in the amount of $78,910.22 for the working period of August 17, 2025, through August 30, 2025, were approved for payment.
The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Larson for business at 8:30 a.m.
Concerned citizens discussed the taxes that have increased in this county and commissioners explained that we have 18 state mandated services to fund.
Matt Welsh, Entered the meeting
Matt discussed the intangible and what can be done about the intangible at the county level.
Duane Barber, Building and Grounds entered the meeting.
Anthony Garcia, Road and Bridge Supervisor entered the meeting.
Duane discussed the sidewalk and parking at the health department for the elderly citizens.
Anthony discussed the tractor at case and getting the john deere tractor they have on the lot and getting the mowing done to get back on the blade.
Commissioner Gailey made a motion to approve August 26th, 2025, minutes. Commissioner Walker Seconded AYE 3 NAY 0
Commissioner Gailey made a motion to approve the water line permit for Garrette and Kylie Reiss. Chair Larson seconded. AYE 3 NAY 0
Amber Fisher, Pool Manager, entered the meeting.
Amber discussed how the summer went and asked if Lissa could write a grant to update some equipment and storage areas for the pool next year.
Marshall Unruh, Sheriff entered the meeting
Marshall discussed the highway planning meetings and the hazarded a maldigestion plan.
The commissioners discussed the north park and having a group get together.
Charles Moser, County Attorney, entered the meeting.
Charles gave updates on lawsuits that are going on within the county. He talked about the tax sale being mid to late October. He then discussed the sale of government property that they can do a resolution and then do a notice of attend to sale and publication for three weeks in a row. Selling by bid in which they can deny all bids. In discussion he brought up to make sure we put in that it’s for development
Laura Cloyd entered the meeting
Laura discussed the plaques from VFW and getting permission to hang them on the hallway upstairs.
Marshall came in and asked about the S&T phone set up and the dates of everything is to get the phone system set up.
Lissa Sexson, Wallace County Community Development entered the meeting.
Lissa discussed the noxious weed lot and what Charles thoughts were on the selling of the property. The commissioners and Lissa those restrictions of the money that the city was awarded has be used for housing. They discussed the temporary office space that is going to be in the storage shed of at the road department for Noxious Weed office. She then gave updates on the grant writing side of this position.
