The Wallace County Board of Commissioners met in regular session with, Larry Townsend, Chairman, Becky Larson, Commissioner, and Micaila Lock, County Clerk present.
Warrants # 32099-322209, the amount of $ 154,303.55 were approved for payment. Payroll warrants in the amount of $213,458.84 for the working period of November 24, 2024, through December 21, 2024, were approved for payment.

Maggie Figurilli, Registers of Deeds entered the meeting
Maggie gave updates on the passport revenue for the year and people reaching out about scam fraud alert for their land.
Christine Smith, Treasurer, entered the meeting
Christine gave updates on tax collections for the year, she gave an update on when the shredder company. Asked for permissions for outstanding checks to go to unclaimed property.
Chairman Townsend made a motion to destroy the allotted documents that have ran out of there statue by the state records department. Commissioners Larson seconded.

Anthony Garcia, Road and Bridge Supervisor entered the meeting
Anthony gave updates on the cattle guard project on blue bird and left the shoefly for trucks to use to help save cattle guards. Becky discussed a sand contract for those who allow the county to get sand from their pasture. Along with raising the sand rate up $1.00 a Yard.
Chairman Townsend made a motion to raise the sand rate up $1.00 per Yard which would be $20.00 a truck. Commissioner Cowles seconded.

Paulett Unruh, Ambulance Director, entered the meeting
Debbie Welsh, Deputy County Clerk, entered the meeting
Erin discussed how she has reached out to Tonya to help her figure out the problem with the NPI.
Tonya Medina, County Health Nurses, entered the meeting via phone
Tonya discussed how she talked to Erin Merry with Delisa’s Medical Billing and that she got her help from Medicare.
Erin Merry re-entered the meeting to Via Phone.
The commissioners let Erin know that they would like Delisa’s Medical Billing continue to do the billing for the ambulance and allowing the health department to continue billing for themselves.
Marshall Unruh, Sheriff entered the meeting
Marshall gave updates on his department.
Lissa Sexson, Wallace County Community Development entered the meeting
Lissa discussed the housing incentives and still waiting for two recipients to return some receipts. Northwest Kansas Housing economic development that will help people that would like to be building a new home that would be a forgiven Loan. Along with NPR that is a Tax forgiveness Program up to 5 years. She showed an affordability Analysis for lifeline housing markets that also has an opportunity that she can go to business and schools within the community to see what all the employees make at each place. Hiring incentives, Storefront incentives. Kathy McDaniel entered the meeting Lissa said the seed grant that she applied for the senior center, Hope Springs, and Prairie Village was not approved. She also brought up the grant to do repairs on the north park to replace the wood chips with recycled tires instead. Along with safe route to school and when Toole designs would be here on January 27th noon at the school in Sharon Springs and January 28th at four o’clock at the Weskan school.

Greg Lane, Representing Blue Cross Blue Shield entered the meeting.
Greg discussed the renewal for the cost of the plan with the increase of 9.96 % from last year. There are new changes which allow someone on the plan to shop around for surgery that might be a cheaper option and formulas which allow for a new medication that comes out. The dental increase is .02%. Blue Cross has a new group service for hospital stays and cancers which is an extra cost. Lucet which is new benefit that blue cross offers which gives someone access concealing and financial advice. Blue Accuses has many different opportunities for an employee to use as well. Which allows access to Telehealth and wellness guidelines.
Chairman Townsend made a motion to approve the Blue Cross Blue Sheild as presented. Commissioner Larson seconded.
