Commissioner Proceedings 6/4/24

The Wallace County Board of Commissioners met in special session with, Larry Townsend, Chairman, Michael Cowles, Commissioner, Becky Larson, Commissioner, Micaila Lock, Deputy County Clerk present.
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Townsend for business at 4:30 p.m.
Applicant entered the meeting.
Commissioner Larson moved to go into executive session at 4:30 pm for Personnel exception-Personnel matter of individual NON-ELECTED personnel for 10 minutes and return at 4:40 pm. Invited in are the 3 commissioners, Deputy County Clerk Micaila Lock and Applicant.  Commissioner Cowles seconded. AYE  3   NAY  0
Returned to regular session at 4:40 pm. 
Commissioner Cowles made a motion to hire Royce Garcia for lifeguard at $15.00. Commissioner Larson seconded. AYE  3   NAY  0
Applicants entered the meeting.
Commissioner Cowles moved to go into executive session at 4:42 pm for Personnel exception-Personnel matter of individual NON-ELECTED personnel for 8 minutes and return at 4:50 pm. Invited in are the 3 commissioners, Deputy County Clerk Micaila Lock and Applicants.  Commissioner Larson seconded.  AYE  3   NAY  0
Returned to regular session at 4:50 pm.
Commissioner Larson made a motion to hire Kallie Richardson for lifeguard at $15.00. Commissioner Cowles seconded. AYE  3   NAY  0
Commissioner Larson made a motion to hire Aubree Richardson for lifeguard at $15.00. Commissioner Cowles seconded. AYE  3   NAY  0
Joanna Rohlf, Kansas Department of Agriculture Water Resources Entered the meeting. 
Mike Schlesener, AtkinsRealis Project Manager the meeting. 
Bill Pace, Kansas Department of Agriculture Water Resources Entered the meeting.
Marshal Unruh, Sheriff entered the meeting.
Anthony Garcia Road Department Supervisor entered the meeting.
Joanna KDA floodplain mapping coriander shared the details on the mapping project in Wallace County. This project will show us where all the floodplains are along with the lagoons.  
Zane Rider enters the meeting VIA Zoom.
Zane discussed Model Enhancements for more accurate data and land use. 
Mike with AtkinsRealis talked about the data Development Scope County wide zone A being right there by the fairgrounds. 
Joanna talks about the project timeline for Floodplain. We are still about three years out with the map. 
Bill talked about the web maps which showed the floodplains for the Wallace County Floodplains Mapping Project.
Commissioner Cowles moved to go into executive session at 6:32 pm for Personnel exception-Personnel matter of individual NON-ELECTED personnel for 10 minutes and return at 6:42 pm. Invited are the 3 commissioners and Deputy County Clerk Micaila Lock. Commissioner Larson seconded.  AYE  3   NAY  0
Returned to regular session 6:42 pm. no action was taken.
There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 6:50 p.m.
