The Wallace County Board of Commissioners met in regular session with, Larry Townsend, Chairman, Michael Cowles, Commissioners, Becky Larson, Commissioner, and Micaila Lock, County Clerk present.
Warrants # 31564 - 31624 in the amount of $ 85,694.60 were approved for payment. Payroll warrants in the amount of $80,312.26 for the working period of July 21,2024, through August 3, 2024, were approved for payment.

Maggie Figurilli, Register of Deeds Entered the meeting
Chairman Townsend called the meeting to order at 8:34 am.

Rachelle discussed how she could take on Wallace County for the reminder of the term
Canvassing of provisional ballots.
Commissioner Larson made a motion to approve the provisional ballots. Commissioner Cowles Seconded.

Anthony Garcia Road Supervisor entered the meeting.
Marshall, Re-entered the meeting
Anthony gave an update on his department and how the roads look after the rain. Anthony and Marshall discussed getting signs on the two black tops in Wallace County for out of state overweight trucks to be ticketed for destroying the black tops
Lance Finley, Undersheriff entered the meeting.
Marshall discussed Senter Moran coming to Wallace County August 14, 2024. Mashall and Lance discussed how Senter Moran reached out to them about getting a night vision guard to help improve the safety for the officer. Along with discussing the gun range and how we can improve it for the training and certifications. Marshall brought up the jails around our county being closed
Commissioner Larson moves to hire Pearce painting for the Quonset provided that they had proof of liability insurance to the county clerk. Chairman Townsend Seconded.

Mindy Harting, County Appraiser candidate Entered the meeting via Phone
Commissioners discussed with Mindy about finishing the term of the appraiser. Mindy asked how many days the commissioners would like her to be in the office per week. Her being here 3 times a month or once a week. She would be available by phone all the time 3 days a month at the cost of $58,000.
Kim Frodin, County Appraiser Candidate entered the meeting Via Phone
Commissioners discussed with Kim about finishing the term of the appraiser. Kim discussed how she needs to talk to her commissioners. Along with being willing to answer any questions that the staff might have and walk the staff through how to do. The commissioners told her that they would like to see her in the office 2 days a week.

Lissa discussed the housing incentives and where they are with the with that program. She talked about the storefront and signage incentive and how the applications are going. She discussed the KDOT Safe Routes to School Planning and Programing Grants and how she had on the committee for each town. Along with going over the status of the Wallace County Arts and Culture for the theater. She discussed the music series and the upcoming concerts along with the future concerts that could happen.
