The Wallace County Board of Commissioners met in regular session with, Becky Larson, Chairperson, Will Walker, Commissioner, Brian Gailey, Commissioner, and Micaila Lock, County Clerk present.
Warrants # 32785-32836 in the amount of $59,074.21 were approved for payment. Payroll warrants in the amount of $72,643.58 for the working period of April 13, 2025, through April 26, 2025, were approved for payment.
The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Larson for business at 8:31 a.m.

Duane Barber, building and grounds supervisor, entered the meeting
Duane gave updates on his department and discussions with the commissioners on when he need to get the pool filled for the pool to open May 23rd.
Anthony Garcia, Road and Bridge Supervisor entered the meeting.
Anthony gave updates on his department, and he wants to put ad for part-time summer help for mowing and full-time help. He was willing to put the aid on indeed.
Doug Springsteel, Landfill supervisor, entered the meeting.
Doug gave updates on the landfill Midwest has brought in some old power piles commissioners suggested to keep those for farmers and ranchers to use as corner post.

Lissa Sexson, Wallace County Community development entered the meeting.
Lissa discussed her meetings with all the other taxing entities in the county for approval to move forward the NRP. She discussed the recruitment incentive and also Weskan water grant that she is working with Katie from ground water management. She explained where the water well is in years of life left and what they need to do for the future. Discussed the request for a grant for Pool and Hope Springs to get equipment. Lissa Discussed Safe Route to school and it has developed into a safe street for all. Finally, discussed KDOT Cost Share for the Smoky Hill River low water crossing project.
