Citizen’s comments:
Etta Walker thanked the board for their dedication to the district. She reported that Ai started her trip home, after spending the year here as an exchange student. There are many students who would like to have a family sponsor them as an exchange student.

Mr. Brown reported that they are working on several more elective classes for the 2023-2024 school year.
D. Superintendent - Christy Hammer
Mrs. Hammer reported: Teacher inservice was held for two days after school dismissal; She attended a USA leadership conference; Curriculum for the 2023-2024 school year has been ordered; Mrs. Hammer and Mrs. Poe will be attending a budget workshop on ThursdayJune 15th.

Discussion/action items:
1. Discuss daycare
Mrs. Hammer gave a report on the possibility of having a daycare program available for our district. She will have a representative come and speak to the board about this possibility. The board consensus was to pursue this possibility.
2. Discuss supplemental contracts
Ross Cox moved, seconded by Camron to approve Stephanie Klinge’s resignation as Asst VB coach. Motion carried 7 yea.
Ross Cox moved, seconded by Stephanie Johnson to approve Cassandra Summers as Asst HS VB coach for the 2023-2024 school year. Motion carried 7 yea.
3. Approval of donation
Stephanie Johnson moved, seconded by Craig Sloan to approve a donation (anonymous) for installing a new high school gymnasium floor. Motion carried 7 yea.
4. Board attorney report
Etta Walker addressed the board about some concerns for rural areas being able to get attorneys, secretaries, paralegals, etc. There is a great concern for our area.
Etta Walker asked for an executive session for attorney/client privileged information. The consensus was to allow the executive session with Mrs. Walker.

Todd Selzer moved, seconded by Stephanie Johnson to go into executive session for twenty (20) minutes for the purpose of discussing attorney/client information, to protect the privacy rights of said persons and return to this room at 7:32 p.m. Mrs. Hammer and Etta Walker are invited in. Motion carried 7 yea.
Craig Sloan moved, seconded by Camron Funk moved to go into executive session for ten (10) minutes, for the purpose of discussing attorney/client information, to protect the privacy rights of said persons and return to this room at 7:42 p.m. Mrs. Hammer and Etta Walker are invited in. Motion carried 7 yea.
5. Approve KASB W/C membership for 2023-2024
Camron Funk moved, seconded by Todd Selzer to approve the KASB W/C membership for the 2023-2024 school year. Motion carried 7 yea.
6. Aapprove teaching contract
Stephanie Johnson moved, seconded by Craig Sloan to approve re-hiring Jamie Hawkins for the junior high social studies; ELA teacher. Motion carried 7 yea.
7. Approve guidelines for board meetings
The board consensus was to table this for the time being.
