Roll Call:  Mark Kuhlman, Ross Cox, Brad Chubb (Absent), Craig Sloan, Todd Selzer, Camron Funk, Stephanie Johnson, Christy Hammer, Matt Brown, Val Poe, Andrew Korte, Bruce Bolen
Approval of agenda:
Todd Selzer moved, seconded by Craig Sloan to approve the agenda, as presented.  Motion carried 6 yea.
Consent Items:
Minutes of October 10, 2022 regular meeting
Approval of warrants: general fund
Approval of financial reports

Approval of consent items:
Camron Funk moved, seconded by Craig Sloan to approve the consent items, as presented.  Motion carried 6 yea.
Citizen’s comments:  None
Staff presentation:  None
Athletic/activities director: Drew korte
FB ended - sectional runner up; CC - Evan Pearce placed 4th at state; BB has started; VB - sub-state runner up; Scholar’s bowl next week here.
Administrative reports:
A. NWKSC-Stephanie Johnson
Several new hires and resignations at the service center, which is not uncommon.
B. NWKTC-Bruce Bolen
Minutes were distributed to the board members
C. Principal-Matt Brown
Been working quite a bit with new science program.  Mike chaney is teaching this class; KELI mentoring session; this week will be working with KESA; and AD league meeting is this week.
D. Superintendent-Christy Hammer
Late start inservice dealt with vision/mission for staff; Been spending some time in the science classroom; KESA-been working on updates; Kansas connect-video for recruiting new teachers, and two (2) positions were listed on Educate Kansas
Discussion/action items:
1. Discuss part-time students
The consensus of the board was to add the policy on part-time students to the website.
2. KOMA paperwork
Everyone signed a paper that they had attended/viewed the video on KOMA
3. Discuss wrecked bus
Todd Selzer moved, seconded  by Stephanie Johnson to approve the purchase of a 2018 30-passenger school bus from National Bus Sales for $65,900.  Motion carried 6 yea.
4. Approve custodial position - Rodney Box
Craig Sloan moved, seconded by Camron Funk to approve Rodney Box for the custodial position.  Motion carried 6 yea.
5. Discuss grants
Mrs. Hammer informed the board that a few teachers had been applying for grants without prior approval of the board and Mrs. Hammer.  Camron Funk moved, seconded by Todd Selzer that prior approval is needed by the board and administration.  Motion carried 6 yea.
6. Discuss supplemental contracts
Todd Selzer moved, seconded by Ross Cox to approve Rebecca Edwards as junior class co-sponsor.  Motion carried 6 yea.
7. Superintendent evaluation
Mark Kuhlman and Christy Hammer had gone over the superintendent evaluation.
Executive session: non-elected personnel
Camron Funk moved, seconded by Craig Sloan to go into executive session for fifteen (15) minutes, for the purpose of discussing non-elected personnel, to protect the privacy rights of said person and return to this room at 7:45 p.m.  board only.  Motion carried 6 yea.
Craig Sloan moved, seconded by Ross Cox to go into executive session for ten (10) minutes, for the purpose of discussing non-elected personnel, to protect the privacy rights of said person and return to this room at 7:57 p.m.  board only.  Motion carried 6 yea.
Todd Selzer moved, seconded by Craig Sloan to go into executive session for fifteen (15) minutes for the purpose of discussing non-elected personnel, to protect the privacy rights of said person and return to this room at 8:15 p.m.  Mrs. Hammer is invited in.  Motion carried 6 yea.
Craig Sloan moved, seconded by Camron Funk to go into executive session for ten (10) minutes for the purpose of discussing non-elected personnel, to protect the privacy rights of said person and return to this room at 8:26 p.m.  Mrs. Hammer is invited in.  Motion carried 6 yea.
Executive session: safety issues
Camron Funk moved, seconded by Ross Cox to go into executive session for five (5) minutes to discuss school security issues.  Mrs. Hammer is invited in.  Motion carried 6 yea.
