USD 242 Board Meeting - August 2023
1. CALL TO ORDER
The Board of Education of Unified School District 242, Wallace County, Kansas, met in regular session at 7:01 pm in the Board Room on August 14th, 2023 with Mr. Eric Purvis presiding.
2. ROLL CALL
MEMBERS PRESENT: Mr. Aaron Aldridge, Mr. Gabe Cox, Mr. Nolan Cox, Mr. Eric Purvis, Mr. Kyle Riedel, Mr. Macy Sexson, Mrs. Christine Smith

MOMENT OF REFELCTION
APPROVAL OF AGENDA
Mr. Nolan Cox (Mr. Gabe Cox) moved to approve the agenda as presented. Motion carried 7-0.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Mrs. Christine Smith (Mr. Gabe Cox) moved to approve the minutes of the July meeting as presented. Motion carried 7-0.
COMMUNICATIONS TO AND FROM THE BOARD
SUPERINTENDENT’S REPORT
Mr. Clow gave the Athletic Report.
Mr. Montero gave the Principal Report on KESA, Enrichment and PLC’s.
Mr. Cox gave the Superintendent’s report on NKESC Representative, Update on Repair Roofing, Windows, HVAC, Office Ceilings, Hansen Group, Track Group and the Board Policy Review.
HEARING OF INDIVIDUALS IN THE AUDIENCE
Mr. Billion talked about updates that need to be done on the rental house.
CONSENT AGENDA
Mrs. Christine Smith (Mr. Gabe Cox) moved to approve appointing Kyle Riedel as NKESC representative. Motion carried 7-0.
PERSONNEL
Mr. Sexson (Mrs. Christine Smith) moved to hire Mr. Cox as the junior high assistant football coach. Motion carried 7-0.
Mrs. Christine Smith (Mr. Gabe Cox) moved to hire Mrs. Mitchek as the junior high assistant volleyball coach. Motion carried 7-0.
New Business
Mrs. Christine Smith (Mr. Nolan Cox) moved to approve the mileage form. Motion carried 7-0.
Mr. Gabe Cox (Mr. Kyle Riedel) moved to approve out of district forms for new and returning students. Motion carried 7-0.
APPROVAL OF BILLS
Mrs. Christine Smith (Mr. Nolan Cox)) moved to approve the bills as submitted. Motion carried 7-0.
ADJOURNMENT
Mr. Purvis declared the meeting adjourned at 8:45 pm.
